Curation
Choose what your players see first, which events they see at all, the order of their category bar, and which social features they have
Curation shapes your storefront: the events your players see first, which events they see at all, the order of their category bar, and which social features (comments, leaderboard, top holders and activity) they have. It is set per environment, so check the environment selector before you change it. The header counts the events your players see, for example "38 of 42 events shown to your players".
Content and Admin staff change Curation; Viewers can read it.
Featured
The Featured tab sets What players see first: up to 50 events, in the order you drag them into. Use Edit featured to choose and order them, or Reset to the platform's picks to go back to Phoenix's selection.
An event that is archived after you featured it does not stop you saving the list: it is skipped.
You can also feature an event from its own page with the star beside its title; that applies at once, with Undo.
Filters
The Filters tab hides events by what they are. An event is shown to your players only if none of its groups is switched off, and new events follow your switches automatically.
| Group | Switches |
|---|---|
| Place | Global, then each region, then its countries. Switching off a region or a country hides every event about it. An event not placed yet is never hidden by a place switch |
| Source | Where events come from: the football data feed, Scout, crypto price rounds, Phoenix's desk, and your own events |
| Event type | Yes/No questions, One winner, Head-to-head, Rounds |
| Categories | Each category on or off, and the order of your players' category bar (below) |
| Single events | One event at a time: Hide a single event, or Show one that a group switch hides. A single-event choice wins over the groups |
Each switch shows how many of its events your players see, for example "38 of 42 events shown". A category whose events are all hidden by other switches is greyed out, with the reason; a country or league inside a region or category you switched off reads "Hidden with ...".
Categories
The category group lists the category bar your players see, in its order. Drag a category to move it (or use the arrow keys on its handle), and switch it on or off.
- A category shows in the players' bar only while at least one of its events is shown, so a category you switch off, or one emptied by another filter, leaves no empty tab.
- New marks a category not yet placed in your order, such as one Phoenix just added: it sits where Phoenix put it until you move it.
- Reset to Phoenix's order puts the bar back in Phoenix's order.
Features
The Features tab sets the social features your players get beside the events. There are four switches, all on until you switch one off. They have their own tab because they do not show or hide events, which is what Featured and Filters are for.
| Feature | Off, players lose | Off, you gain |
|---|---|---|
| Comments | The Comments tab on event pages, to read and to write | No player-written text to moderate |
| Leaderboard | The Leaderboard page and its links | No player names or winnings shown to other players |
| Top holders | The Top holders tab on event pages | No player names or positions shown on events |
| Activity | The Activity page, its links and the Activity tab on event pages | No other player's trade shown as it happens |
A feature that is off is gone from every page, for every player, visitors included:
- It is drawn nowhere. The Leaderboard and Activity links leave the header, the page tabs and the phone's tab bar (see Header). On an event page the Comments, Top holders and Activity tabs go one by one, and with all three off there are no section tabs at all. The first tab that is still on opens first.
- Its data is not fetched. The embed does not ask for it.
- The server refuses it too. A read, a write or a live feed of a feature that is off is refused with
feature_off, naming the feature indetails.feature, for players and visitors alike. It stays off even if a page tries to ask for it. - Your site is told. A
navigateto Leaderboard or Activity from your site is answered with anerrorevent with the codeview_off, and the list of pages the embed gives your site leaves them out (see Your Site's Menu). A link or launch that names a switched-off page opens on the markets.
Switching a feature off hides it. Nothing is deleted: switch it on again and it comes back.
Like the other tabs, a switch stages its change, and nothing is live until you apply it (see Apply and Undo). Features are part of the storefront: they are saved per environment, copied from sandbox to production with the rest of the storefront, and restored with it (see Sandbox and Production).
Apply and Undo
Changes are staged, not live: the bar at the bottom says Not live yet, with Discard and Review and apply. Featured, Filters and Features are staged and applied separately; switching tab with changes staged asks you to discard them.
Review and apply lists what will change for your players; Apply makes it live, with a short Undo. There is no preview of the player screen: check your site's embed after applying.
Apply saves the whole storefront at once, so a save is never half applied: either everything you staged is live, or nothing is. If a colleague saved a change after you opened the page, your Apply is refused and the confirm stays open with a message saying so. Your staged changes now sit on top of theirs: review them and apply again. Undo takes back only what that Apply changed, over whatever is saved at that moment, so a colleague's later change to another part stays. If the storefront keeps changing under it and the Undo cannot be saved, you are asked to change it back by hand.
Hiding an event changes only what your players see. Players who already hold positions in it keep them, and they settle normally.
Sandbox and Production
When your operator has both environments set up, a line above the tabs says whether the storefront is the same in both: Production matches sandbox, or Production differs from sandbox in Featured, Filters and Features (naming the tabs where it differs). It compares the Featured list, every Filters switch, the category order, the events and markets shown or hidden by hand, and the four feature switches.
Content and Admin staff have two buttons beside it:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Copy sandbox storefront to production | Puts the sandbox storefront on production. It is unavailable while production already matches sandbox |
| Restore previous production storefront | Puts back the storefront production had before its last change. It is unavailable until production's storefront has been changed once. Restoring twice swaps back |
Each button opens a confirm that lists every difference by name, with what production has now and what it becomes. Confirm with Copy to production or Restore; the toast that follows has an Undo, which restores the previous production storefront.
- Only the storefront changes. Production keeps its own wallet, keys, sites, currencies and limits.
- The copy is of the sandbox storefront you reviewed. If sandbox changes before you confirm, the copy is refused and you review it again.
- Both buttons wait while changes are staged: apply or discard them first.
- Production players see the new storefront as soon as you confirm.
Why Is This Event Hidden?
The Events list marks an event hidden from your players ("Hidden by Place: United States"), and the event page says why in full, for example "Hidden from your players by Place: United States" or "Hidden from your players by hand", with a link to Curation for Content and Admin staff.
