The Queue
What needs a person now, what is coming up, and what settles on its own
The Queue is your team's to-do list: what needs a person now, most urgent first. It holds your own events' results and holds, and Scout's suggested questions. Platform events never appear in it: Phoenix settles those.
Tabs
| Tab | What it lists |
|---|---|
| All | Everything below that needs a person now |
| Your results | Markets of your own events waiting for a result: Overdue results, Due within 3h, and the Backlog of results over 7 days late |
| On hold | Your markets on hold, waiting for you to release or void them |
| Suggested | Scout's suggested questions, waiting for you to publish or reject (see Scout) |
| Coming up | Not due yet: markets closing in the next 3 hours, results due later, and markets that settle on their own. Trading may outlast the result lists open markets with no outcome time stated, or a close at or after it: reschedule each one |
| Settled 24h | What was settled in the last 24 hours |
All, Your results, On hold and Suggested count exactly what they list. The Dashboard shows how many items need action.
Content and Admin staff work the Queue. Support, Finance and Viewer staff see All (read-only) and Settled 24h.
What Needs a Person, and What Settles on Its Own
Phoenix decides who settles each market:
- A person: your own events, entered by your team. A closed market waits under Coming up > Due later until its result is due within 3 hours, then moves to Your results.
- An oracle: a market with an automatic source. For your operator that means the Scout questions you published. They sit quietly under Coming up > Settles on its own, out of the counts, until Scout has an answer.
Platform events never appear in your Queue, whoever settles them.
Translations never appear in it either. A missing translation blocks nothing, because players read the original text meanwhile, so you find the work under Events > Translations (see The Translations Tab). A report you send to Phoenix about one of its translations waits on Phoenix, not on your team (see Reporting a Translation Problem).
A market waiting on Scout moves to All by itself if the answer is more than an hour late, if Scout finds no answer, withdraws its result, or its result does not settle the market.
Scout's answers need a person: when Scout proposes a result for one of your markets, it waits in your Queue for someone to confirm it or enter a different result (unless Phoenix has turned on confirmation without a person for your Scout, which is off by default).
Working an Item
Selecting a market opens its panel:
- Who settles it, and when the result is expected.
- Result: what the source has reported, if anything.
- Payout preview: what your book pays if an outcome wins, with the stakes and the house result.
- Rules: the market's rules as published (the description is on the event page).
The actions are Enter result (where you pick the winning outcome), Hold and Void; on a held market, Release hold and Void. A result, a hold and a void ask for a reason, and a result or a void also asks for an evidence link; Release hold takes an optional note. Settlements are final. See Your Events and Results and the Resolution Guide.
A Daily Routine
- Clear Your results every day; overdue results keep your players waiting for their money.
- Review On hold and release what has become clear, so you can enter its result.
- Review Suggested so good questions go live in time.
- Glance at Coming up for markets closing soon.
